Marksmanship Met History… Appleseed Shoot a Big Success!

Members of the Republican Liberty Caucus and other strong supporters of Second Amendment rights gathered for a two day instructional course and history lesson.  The Appleseeds Project developed by the Revolutionary War Veterans Association is “designed to take you from being a rifle owner to a rifleman.”  It was evident from the overwhelming turn-out that many rifle enthusiast and history buffs were pleased to soak up the information as well as, some of the rigorous maneuvers and directions being barked by the tough but lovable volunteer Appleseeds directors.

This past weekend’s less than favorable weather did not detour patriots such as Dave Shields (who helped arrange the event) and Kimberly Wells (RLCNEF Vice Chairman) and Buck Wright (RLCNEF Treasurer) who attended the local marksmanship training hosted at the Ancient City Shooting Range.

During the lunch break, RLC members talked with other attendees and encouraged them to attend  a RLC local monthly meeting where we discuss limited government, liberty ideologies, promote civic education as well as activism against taxes, spending and other unconstitutional government authorities.

Those in attendance were responsive to the RLC message, however there is still a large anti-republican sentiment amongst many Americans.  Many persons claim to have been registered Republican or have voted Republican for the past three to four decades.  However, the antics of the Bush Administration being followed by Obama has only exasperated their apathy and distaste for “politics as usual.” Many see our government’s persistent threat to Second Amendment rights as one of the very reasons events such as the Appleseeds Project should be well attended and plentiful around the nation.

One thing is for certain, regardless of the state of affairs each of us view our country to be in, it is pertinent that no matter our party affiliation, race, sex, gender or religious views that we each take time to not only exercise our rights but support those who understand that liberty and freedom must always be carefully guarded and preserved.

For those who missed this past event will be pleased to know that there has been a second event scheduled this December 12th and 13th. Please be sure to register online so they can prepare for the proper attendance. Unfortunately, this past event was so well attended that Appleseed’s organizers had to turn away some last minute attendees even though they where prepared take 20% more than who registered in advance.
